Next STEPS

Many young people finishing high school have no idea what they want to do when they graduate. For individuals with disabilities this can be a tough transition with high stakes as trying multiple jobs can result in feeling like a failure and result in a fear of trying again. SAW Inc.’s Next STEPS Program bridges this gap. Next STEPS provides a safe avenue to get additional support and time to explore options and then build needed skills for attaining and maintaining employment.

What Do We Mean by Adults with Developmental Disabilities?

“Adults with disabilities” refers to individuals who have physical, cognitive, sensory, or developmental impairments, and have reached the age of adulthood. These disabilities may impact their daily life activities, mobility, communication, or other aspects of their functioning, and may require support, accommodations, or specialized services to enhance their quality of life and participation in society.

In today’s business climate, many organizations employ Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion policies that offer more opportunities for those with disabilities. SAW is one such organization that supports this effort and provides more diverse worker solutions.
