Different Ways to Volunteer at SAW, Inc.

Community Outings: Join our individuals on exciting adventures in the community. Whether you have a specific outing in mind or want to explore one of our planned activities, your presence makes a world of difference.

In-House Volunteering: Host a book club, teach a craft, lead a line dance, or engage in board games—there’s a wealth of possibilities for in-house volunteering that align with your passions and skills.

Administrative Support: As a vital part of our non-profit organization, your administrative help is invaluable. Assist with filing, mailings, and various administrative tasks that keep SAW, Inc. running smoothly.

Small Group Volunteering: Scout troops, high school clubs, Rotary, and other small groups are more than welcome to volunteer together, creating a collaborative and community-driven experience.

Current Volunteer Opportunties

Parma AAC – On-going volunteer activities

  • Craft activity with individuals – Date flexible, Time flexible between    8:30 – 11:00
  • Playing games in rec area with individuals (pool, air hockey, basketball, etc.) – Date flexible, Time flexible between 8:30 – 11:00
  • Running a bingo game/assisting individuals – Date flexible, Time flexible between  8:30 – 11:00

Parma AAC – Special events for one and done volunteering

  • Thursday, June 27 – 9-11 – CCBDD Empower Pop-up

Rocky River AAC – On-going volunteer opportunities

  • Book club – 2 volunteers to help select book and meet with individuals to read and discuss book selected weekly
  • Guys Coffee Club – meet a group of senior men out at a local business for coffee and socialization May 29 9:30 – 10:30 am
  • Gardening Class starting May 23 and 4th Thursday of the month. – assist individuals in maintaining the raised garden beds

Rocky River AAC – Special events for one and done volunteering:

  • May 24 Bocce Tournament – Come and play bocce with individuals on our regulation bocce courts 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Beachwood AAC – On-going volunteer activities

  • Craft activity with individuals – Mondays time flexible between 9:30 – 12:30 pm – every other week. Running a bingo game/assisting individuals. Thursdays 9:30 – 12:30 – every other week

Beachwood AAC – Special events for one and done volunteering:

  • TBD

Maple Heights AAC – On-going volunteer activities

  • Pet Therapy – would like a certified therapy dog and owner to visit weekly – days flexible Monday – Friday between 9:30 – 11:30 or 12:30 – 1:30
  • Gardening class starting May – 2. Getting gardens prepared, planting, weeding and watering with individuals
  • Supporting an individual 1:1 to create a newsletter on the computer – 2x per month
  • Facilitating a bingo game Tuesdays every other week – flexible time between 9:30 – 12:30 or 12:30 – 1:00

Maple Heights AAC – Special events for one and done volunteering:
